About the role
Our client, a competitive provider of 3rd party email hosting services is seeking a Site Reliability Engineer whose function will be to serve as a .Net developer as well as serve as a systems administrator. This candidate will be working in a 24/7 environment helping ensure that SLA's are met by providing support, troubleshooting, and ensuring that the ASP.Net code base is intact to achieve 99.9999% uptime for SaaS email platforms. Additionally, the Site Reliability Engineer will be tasked with new development and optimization of new and existing SaaS products. It is highly preferred that the Site Reliability Engineer have a solid understanding of commercial IT infrastructure concepts and technologies such as Windows Server, SQL Server, TCP/IP, VmWare, Messaging, & email protocols such as POP, IMAP, SMTP etc.

One minute you may be programming in .NEt/ASP.NEt, creating stored procedures, running SQL queries, and the next moment you may be working with the infrastructure engineers to determine the root cause of an issue. Requirements
:: 8+ years experience working in commercial IT
:: 4+ years working in a 24x7 technology as a service, software as a service, or platform as a service environment highly preferred
:: General understanding of infrastructure concepts highly preferred such as TCP/IP, Windows Server, IP Protocols, LAN/WAN, virtualization, exchange, etc.
:: General understanding of email technologies and protocols such as POP, IMAP, SMTP, and email servers highly preferred
:: 3+ years of experience programming in .Net technologies ; the ability to at least maintain existing code bases and make adjustments
:: 3+ years SQL Server, Stored Procedures, SQL Queries, Data Transfer etc
